My Trading Philosophy — 6 Years of Elliott Wave, Structure Trading, and a System Built From Ruin
Ten years. Thousands of hours of screen time. 5,000+ indicators coded and discarded. A system built from Dow, Wyckoff, Elliott, Chan, and Price Action. Meet Qi Xin — the trader behind .
The Beginning — A Finance Degree That Meant Nothing
I walked into the market with a finance degree and the confidence that I knew how money worked. The market disagreed. My first account was blown within three months. Not because I was unlucky — because I thought fundamentals were enough. They are not. I sat in front of my screen at 2 a.m., watching my equity evaporate, and realized: everything I learned in school was about managing other people's money, not trading your own. That night I started from zero.
Finding Elliott Wave — The Structure Beneath the Noise
After blowing my first account, I spent months staring at charts trying to find something — anything — that made sense. Candlestick patterns felt random. Indicators lagged. Fundamentals moved the market but never when or how I expected. Then I found Elliott Wave Principle by Frost & Prechter. Not as a trading system — as a way of seeing. The idea that markets move in structured waves — five impulses, three corrections — gave me a framework. I spent the next year labeling every chart I could find, thousands of them, until wave counting became second nature.
